About the role: Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy has a great opportunity to appoint a number of new/additional Cover Supervisors who will join us for the new academic year starting in September 2019. Joining the wider Support Department, supervising whole classes during short-term absence of teachers is the key responsibility of a Cover Supervisor. Every day will be varied and you'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of year groups and across different subject areas, although we make every effort to timetable our Cover Supervisor team accordingly to their strengths. You'll foster great working relationships with staff and students alike, and for those considering a career in teaching in the future, this position is ideal as it will give you the first-hand exposure to strengthen your UCAS application.
• To give instructions for a lesson as provided for by a teacher
• Ensuring good behaviour of the students and make sure the students engage in the earning activity
• Responding to students’ general questions and provide feedback to the teacher on broad issues such as behaviour
• Be subject to general supervision and will act under the professional direction of teachers

The campus incorporates nine buildings which include four home schools each serving 450 pupils and students, a Design, Technology and Creative and Performing Arts School, a Sport & Community Education Centre and an Inclusions Hub. What are we looking for in you? It is preferable for applicants will have previous experience of working with young people but not essential. You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy, and will ideally have progressed to complete a Degree at university. You will be committed to personal learning and development, and have a sincere commitment to sharing our long-term aims and drive for continuous improvement.
