The Henry Beaufort School is a medium sized secondary school offering students high standards, an excellent education and high attainment.

We are looking for graduates, from all disciplines, to work within our school as a cover supervisor.

A cover supervisor’s role is an excellent platform to experience teaching and be part of a secondary school environment. Graduates would need to be flexible and able to think on their feet, you will be responsible for leading classes in subjects both within and outside of your subject knowledge.

You will be required to hit the ground running each morning with the ability to absorb and transfer information; working to specific instruction and lesson plans in providing a lesson to the students in your care a continuation of their learning.

In school, training and support will be provided in this role. The induction programme will allow you to gain experience in classroom and behaviour management, pastoral support and understanding the inner workings of a school.

This experience will enable you to build a portfolio and continue onto a PGCE or complete a School-Centred Initial Teacher Training course (SCITT).

Successful Candidates would be appointed on a flexible day to day basis, employed directly by the school. Assignments will be offered daily, usually on the morning that cover is required. You would need to notify the school of your availability on a week to week or day to day basis.

All Applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. The minimum requirement is English and Maths at grade A-C or equivalent.
