Cover Supervisor 

Salary: C1, Point 12 – 17 (£21,589 – £23,836)

Actual starting salary: £18,383 - £20,296 -TTO + 5 days, 37 hours per week 

This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period 

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join Boston Spa Academy from February 2020. Located between York, Leeds and Harrogate, Boston Spa Academy is committed to the development of the whole student, the physical, aesthetic, emotional, moral, spiritual as well as the intellectual.

Working as part of The GORSE Academies Trust, Boston Spa Academy will ensure that students receive an outstanding education that focuses on aspiration, high expectations and personalisation. Together these non-negotiable values will instil in young people a self-belief that enables students to access the highest standard of higher educational provision and employment. Prior to joining The GORSE Academies Trust the school was inspected by Ofsted and was judged to be ‘Good’ in all areas. However, since joining The GORSE Academies Trust the school has gone from strength to strength and is now rated amongst the highest performing schools in Leeds, the Yorkshire and Humber region and the country.

Boston Spa Academy are keen to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide cover for teacher absences and also to play an important part in break and lunch duties. Our Cover Supervisors are valued and important members of staff and as such you will benefit from additional training opportunities which will further enhance your skill-set. After working as a Cover Supervisor, many of our colleagues go on to gain Qualified Teacher Status through working with our School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider (GORSE SCITT).

Boston Spa Academy in Boston Spa, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, is a mixed, secondary school for children aged 11-18. The school, which opened in 1973, has around 1,430 students of which 190 attend the growing sixth form. In September 2018, Boston Spa Academy officially joined the highly successful and nationally renowned GORSE trust. As a direct impact of working with colleagues at TGAT the academy has moved from being a school with average performance to one which is now well above the national average. Boston Spa Academy is now amongst the highest performing schools in Leeds, the Yorkshire and Humber region and the country.
