Job overview

Cover Supervisor

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Cover Supervisor Lead to fill an exciting role that we have created.

The role is permanent working 32.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday for 39 weeks per year (term time only plus the 5 INSET days).

This role will be pivotal in supporting and developing the skills, knowledge and confidence of our amazing LSA team.  You will act as the link between the Senior Leadership Team and LSA team, ensuring they are up to date with current information.  You will be an excellent communicator and have an ability to build strong teams based on mutual respect and support.  You will know the strengths of your team and work with the SENDCo to ensure all LSAs are in the best position for both them and our pupils.  You will also have a passion for developing both yourself and those around you and will support LSAs to identify appropriate CPD for themselves.

You will also be a confident classroom practitioner who can work in partnership with our teaching team to ensure high quality teaching when covering classes.

At Sherard we are passionate about realising potential.  For the right candidate you can expect a high level of support and opportunities to further develop your career.  We have supported several former LSAs to get into teaching or gain qualifications in other areas of interest.

Sherard is a large school with a Specialist Provision and a pre-school. We have a higher-than-average number of pupils with identified SEND and therefore, we have a large team of LSA’s. You would be based in the mainstream school and lead our team of mainstream LSAs.

We work as a close team and all form part of an overall jigsaw that supports the school and Trust ethos of ‘Children First’.
