The Farnborough Academy is part of the Trent Academies Group. The Trent Academies Group is a multi-academy trust that supports schools in providing outstanding education for their pupils.

We wish to appoint a Cover Supervisor to be responsible for covering and delivering prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

We are seeking to appoint a person who is enthusiastic, confident and committed to working across the school and who is able to develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Liaise with teaching staff, provide cover for lessons and tutor time and supervise work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
  • Assist in preparing the learning environment, resources and materials.
  • Assist in exam invigilation under the supervision of the Exams Officer.

The person appointed will:

  • Be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant experience
  • Have experience of building and maintaining positive relationships with young people and colleagues
  • Be a creative problem solver
  • Have high level of oral, written and ICT skills to support learning
  • Have excellent presentation skills
  • Be organised, able to prioritise, plan and listen
  • An understanding of current trends in education

Farnborough Spencer Academy launched on 1st September 2014 and officially converted to being part of the Spencer Academies Trust from 1st October 2018.The academy  provides the young people of Clifton and the surrounding areas with wide ranging opportunities. Firmly rooted in the local community ,our aim is to provide high quality education for up to 1000 young people giving everyone the chance to shine brightly.

The academy is on a path of rapid improvement and we are proud of how rapidly the quality of teaching and the behaviour of pupils has developed in the past two years leading to the best ever GCSE results in August 2018.
