An exciting opportunity has arisen at Barking Abbey School for female and male PE Cover Supervisors to work under the guidance of teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom including the supervision of whole classes during the short term absence of teachers. The successful PE candidates must have experience and qualificiations of delivering practical PE lessons for a range of abilities.
The School is seeking female and male applicants for this position because the successful candidates must be able to enter the girls' and boys' changing rooms as required in the absence of a female or male PE teacher. The School believes that the need to preserve decency and privacy forms a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.

- Blind shortlisting by a panel against the Job description. Potential applicants are scored. Shortlisting by at least 3 people including one SLT.

- Interview process will depend on role and may include; lesson observations, data or admin tasks, panel interviews, student panels and a final interview
- All assessed tasks are scored according to set criteria and scores are moderated to ensure consistency.
- All panel interviews and final interviews are scored. Each interview has a moderation process to ensure consistency of scores where appropriate. Questions are common to all applicants.
- Feedback is provided by a member of the panel.
