Grade 4 £17,772 - £20,661 pro rata. 37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year term time.
We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor for September 2017. The post is full-time (37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year).
The main purpose of the post is to supervise and support students in mainstream classroom work in Key Stages 3 and 4 when a teacher is absent. The successful applicant will need to be energetic, creative, inspiring and enjoy working with young people.
You must be able to:
- Demonstrate experience of working with 11-18 year olds in a classroom environment
- Be an excellent role model who strives to accomplish the very best
- Have a good understanding of the job requirements
- Have basic ICT skills to include knowledge/use of the internet
When not required to cover lessons for absent teachers, Cover Supervisors act as in-class support, or help departments with some administrative tasks including the display of learning resources and students’ work. Therefore ability and experience in this would be advantageous.
This position is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to pursue a career in education and may suit a qualified teacher looking to step down from a full teaching role, a graduate looking to gain experience before teacher training or an adult with experience of working with young people.
Based at King Ecgbert School in the first instance, it is expected that the successful candidate would be deployed to cover absent teachers in any of the Mercia Trust secondary schools and would need to be able to travel to/between the three schools as part of the job. King Ecgbert School is a highly successful and Ofsted recognised ‘Outstanding’ school which provides a first class education for over 1300 students aged from 11 to 18. This is an exciting time to join the Mercia Learning Trust, with Newfield School recently achieving a ‘Good’ Ofsted report and the Trust becoming sponsor of the new Mercia School, currently under construction in Sheffield.
Further information and details about how to apply can be found on the school website www.ecgbert.sheffield.sch.uk. Visits to the school are welcomed and can be arranged by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by contacting the school on 0114 235 3855.
Deadline for applications is Wednesday 28 June 2017. Interviews will be held during week beginning 03 July 2017. If you have not heard from us by the end of that week, then please assume that on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.
King Ecgbert School is committed to the safeguarding of children and young people and expects all staff, governors and volunteers to share this commitment and to act in accordance with our safeguarding policies and procedures.
