 St Michael’s Catholic Academy is a popular school situated in Billingham. The school is part of Carmel Education Trust.   

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic cover supervisor to work under the direction of the Deputy Head.   

Duties will include:  

· Supervising classes during the short term absence of teachers, 

· Supervising students using the Learning Resource Centre for the first half hour of lunchtime and also after school for study/homework purposes, 

· Working under the guidance of the teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision,  

· Implementing work programmes with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom,  

· Managing the behaviour of students being supervised, 

· Reporting to the Deputy Head at the beginning and the end of the school day, 

· Following school policies and procedures.

About St Michael's Catholic Academy

St Michael’s Catholic Academy was established as a state secondary in 1964 in Billingham, County Durham. It became part of Carmel Education Trust in 2013, along with a number of other local Catholic schools. 

Currently, the co-educational secondary caters for more than 800 pupils aged 11-16. St Michael’s intends to move to a larger, more modern site in the near future.
