Kettlethorpe High School is a large and popular maintained school in Wakefield, near to the M1 and with excellent links to Sheffield, Leeds and Kirklees. We continue to flourish and are the school of choice within the local area. We are often oversubscribed and are currently planning for a larger cohort entry that will see new capital building work and a potential 11-16 roll of 1,800 pupils.

Our Cover Supervisors are responsible for supervising a class of pupils in place of a teacher. The role plays a vital role in ensuring the curriculum is delivered when unexpected absence occurs, supervising subjects up to GCSE level.

To be successful, you will be:

  • confident working with the 11-16 age range;
  • of graduate calibre;
  • well organised and confident in dealing with pupils in classroom situations;
  • able to follow the instructions left by the teacher;
  • able to deal with pupils’ learning and behaviour at various levels.
