Job overview

REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

This post is 32 ½ hours per week, term time only (temporary in the first instance)

Grade G5 Point 7-11 – Actual Salary £14,328-£15,510

We are looking to appoint a reliable and flexible Cover Supervisor, to supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers.

Our most recent Ofsted report described us as a “good college” where “Staff are positive about the training, coaching and guidance that they have received from school leaders.” and “Pupils were found to have positive attitudes to learning in their lessons, showing respect towards teachers and their peers.”

The successful candidate will be required to supervise classes or groups of students during the short-term absence of the class teacher.  Under the guidance of teaching/senior staff you will be responsible for supervising work that has been set in accordance with college policy, managing student behaviour and assisting students in relevant activities.  Successful applicants are likely to have previous experience in teaching, learning support in the classroom or youth work, but any suitable background will be considered.

For the right candidate there may also be the opportunity to mentor individual and small groups of targeted students to resolve a range of issues which create barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of our Personnel Recruitment specification and be subject to an enhanced DBS check.  A prohibition from teaching check will also be completed for all applicants.  Minsthorpe Community College is committed to equality of opportunity and upholding the principles of the Equality Act 2010. We positively welcome applications from all sections of the community.  Only applications submitted with a completed Minsthorpe Academy Trust Application Form will be considered.

Further particulars for this post can be obtained by visiting our Web Site at www.minsthorpe.cc  Please send completed application forms to Cath Green, Director of HR & Associate Teams – cgreen@minsthorpe.cc - by midday on Monday 20th January 2020.
