At Holy Trinity our mission is to be a centre of excellence for learning inspired by Christian values where young people fulfil their potential.

We are recruiting for Cover Supervisors to join us as soon as possible as new additions to the team of staff.

The key responsibilities of the role are to supervise classes in the absence of their usual teacher with particular regard to student safety, behaviour and completion of the work set by the teacher. Duties will include general supervision, the delivering and assisting of completing work set and managing behaviour of students in accordance with the policies of the school. Daily lunch time supervision duties are also required.

It is preferable that applicants are able to demonstrate previous success of working with secondary school age students. This may include previous experience of working in a secondary school classroom environment or working with young people in the community. Induction and training will be offered. The successful applicant will be able to: quickly build positive professional relationships with students; successfully supervise classes and comply with all relevant school Policies and procedures. Good IT skills are essential as this is how much of the students’ work is set; registers are taken and internal communication occurs. Candidates must be flexible, resilient and able to supervise subjects across the curriculum, including outdoor sports.

Applicants should have good qualifications at least to GCSE level (or equivalent) and good written English. This is an ideal post for someone who already has experience of working with young people and those considering a career in teaching. Shortlisted candidates must be available for interview on the date indicated.

The standard working hours for the 32.5-hour position will be 8:30am – 3:30pm, this includes a half hour unpaid lunch break. Any additional hours will be worked after 3:30pm.

Application forms and details about the post are attached/on the website. More information about the post and our school is also available on the website  (http://www.holytrinitycrawley.org.uk/Vacancies/). All enquiries and completed application forms with covering letter / statement explaining how you meet the Person Specification should be sent to HR (hr@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk) by the closing date or earlier.

Welcome to the Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School. We are a Voluntary Aided Church school with a rich history and a reputation for excellence.

The school was opened in 1969 by the Queen and is believed to be the first purpose built Church of England comprehensive school in the country. Today it is an over-subscribed and vibrant multi-faith, multi-cultural school serving three deaneries of Cuckfield, East Grinstead and Horsham, and the community of Crawley, providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. This is a happy school where faith is valued and which is underpinned by core Christian values of mutual respect and compassion based on the Gospel of Christ.

We are proud of our ethos, our all-round high standards and our strong emphasis on personal development. We believe children deserve the best education possible and values that prepare them for the future. We are committed to providing both.

We want everyone in our community to achieve all they can whilst making a difference for those around them.

We have approximately 1250 students in years 7 to 13.

We offer staff a comprehensive induction programme and an appraisal programme to match CPD to their needs. We also share good practice and we engage in the TEEP programme to enhance our teaching and learning in the classroom.  We support, empower and challenge staff to make a real difference in raising standards and have many examples of staff that have fast-tracked their career.

The school is an easy commute via public transport from Brighton, and from other parts of East or West Sussex and from Surrey.

Thank you for considering our school. If our vacancies and values match your skill set we would be delighted to hear from you. Visits to our school are welcomed and encouraged so you can see for yourself our sense of purpose and community.
