We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and skilled Cover Supervisor to join our team of professionals as soon as possible. The key role of a Cover Supervisor is to work closely with our students across a range of subjects and to ensure they maintain their learning in the absence of their regular teacher. Candidates will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills for this rewarding role and be relentless in their commitment to the success of all our students.
The ability to work calmly and often under pressure is essential. A good working knowledge of current ICT packages is required and previous experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage. However, we have a strong commitment to developing our staff so you can also expect to engage in a range of training activities. As such this is an excellent preparation for anyone considering a career in either teaching or supporting students’ learning.
Warden Park Secondary Academy is a significantly over-subscribed school demonstrating the high regard with which it is held in the local community. The vast majority of our students are committed and hard-working and it is in no doubt that this is a very enjoyable place to work.
If you enjoy a challenge and are interested in applying for this rewarding post, please download further information and an application form from our website www.wardenpark.co.uk and return your completed application form by email to jobs@wardenpark.co.uk. If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role please contact Graeme Harland (Assistant Headteacher) at gharland@wardenpark.co.uk.
We advise applying promptly for this post as we reserve the right to close and interview early if sufficient suitable applications have been received.
Warden Park Secondary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to the equality of opportunity, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check. All applicants will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed along with other relevant employment checks.

About Warden Park Academy
Warden Park Secondary Academy (WPSA) is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Cuckfield, West Sussex. There are approximately 1,500 students at the school from 11-16 years.
Values and vision
Through our curriculum we aim to personally empower students by developing in them the ability to act in pursuit of positive personal fulfilment.
Our approach is underpinned by a belief that:
- Strong academic outcomes provide students with the foundation to excel in the next and future stages of their learning.
- Highly developed character attributes provide students with the means to develop positive emotions, engage meaningfully, build and sustain positive relationships, find purpose and meaning in their lives and feel a sense of accomplishment.
There is a strong focus in the academy on developing excellent teacher practice. We are a research driven learning institution and our professional development is focused on reviewing best practice and carrying out our own research in order to improve the quality of teaching in our classrooms. Being professionally curious and keen to build strong professional relationships with colleagues are important characteristics that we seek and these are evident in the teachers that thrive here. It is equally important that teachers are able to capture and excite the imagination of students through their subject teaching, role modelling academic excellence and good character.
The academy is part of Sussex Learning Trust, a growing MAT of both primary and secondary schools across West Sussex.
