Job overview
At Cansfield we wish to increase capacity within our busy and successful Operations Team and are keen to appoint a Cover Supervisor who is positive and motivated and can inspire students aged 11 -16 to achieve their full potential. This is a temporary post in the first instance, but has the opportunity to become permanent. We are looking for someone who can:
- Deliver whole class teaching as appropriate, either on a timetable basis or in the absence of a class teacher;
- Provide support to teaching staff and students;
- Work under guidance of teaching staff within an agreed system of supervision;
- Supervise whole classes during short term teacher absence and
- Maintain good order and keep students on task
The successful candidate will contribute to the safeguarding and protection of pupils. They will be highly motivated, understanding and have a passion for making a difference and ensuring that student life opportunities are enhanced. The school aims to help students to develop aesthetic sensitivity. It also wishes to promote self-esteem and respect for others among students so that they become tolerant of people who have different opinions to them.
For a child to reach their full educational achievement, the school believes a high level of school attendance is essential. It has dedicated itself consistently to working towards a goal of 100% attendance for all pupils. The school has also affirmed that it will use every opportunity it can to convey to pupils and their parents or carers the importance of regular and punctual attendance.
