Job overview

Well it was only a matter of time before you found the best teaching post on the site! We are the place to teach! Our staff are innovative and hard working. They are positive and enjoy being part of the teams, which in turn models and supports the whole school vision. Our teachers and TAs are dynamic, experimental and engage wholeheartedly in the development of the curriculum, subject leadership and cross-curricular learning.

Our premises are evolving and we have a wealth of opportunities on our large site. Working closely with the local and wider communities, the school is building strong links with partners in the private, public and third sectors to expand our curriculum and ensure outstanding support for our learners as they transition into adulthood.

Job Context

St Luke’s is a wonderful  Foundation Special School for pupils aged 7-16, who have a wide range of learning and social needs, fantastic personalities and skills that make this job truly special!

Having federated with the Collett School (Hemel Hempstead) and Forest House Education Centre (Radlett) to become The Blue Tangerine Federation, we are embarking on a new stage of our journey. We are building on the best of what we already have, whilst moving forward to improve our resources and provide the best opportunities for young people with SEND in the West of Hertfordshire.

Whether you prefer to work with younger children or our teenagers, we have numerous opportunities for you here. Our classes are relatively small (about 10) and the curriculum is designed around the needs of your own groups - innovation, celebration and relevance are the key ingredients for your planning.

The post would suit both a HLTA or a person with a degree intending to embark on teaching training (QTS) - the most important aspect of the successful candidate would be enthusiasm for teaching and a desire to improve your own continual professional development in order to actively support improvements to our school.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This appointment will be conditional on successful pre-employment and enhanced DBS checks.

If this looks interesting - come and have a look around the school and see if we're right for you too! Please contact our reception on 01582 626727 or email Donna Abel hr@bluetangerine.herts.sch.uk

Thank you for your interest and looking forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes,

Stephen Hoult-Allen

Executive Head
