Cambridge International School (CIS) in Bratislava, Slovakia, is seeking to appoint a Cover teacher with the ability to teach History and Geography in the Lower Secondary.

The role of a Cover teacher is to supervise classes throughout the age and ability range when their teacher is absent, maintain discipline in the classrooms and ensure that pre-prepared work is completed by pupils. When not in a classroom some general supervision during break times is involved.

This role is for a December '22/ January'23 startOnly applications from the EU passport holders will be considered. 

1. The School

CIS is constituted by a full Primary and Secondary School and is the focal campus of the Cambridge family, which currently includes four Cambridge International Kindergartens (Funiversities) across Bratislava. CIS offers an outstanding International education, centred on the Cambridge Pathway and enhanced by the Slovak National Curriculum, but with a focus always on international best practice. The School itself is located in the charming and scenic Staré Mesto District, in a friendly and quiet residential area of Bratislava, near the beautiful Horsky Park. We are strongly committed to the highest standards of education, and CIS is fully licenced by the Slovak Ministry of Education.

2. The Role

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced teacher to join our Secondary School team. Our teachers form a strong, highly collaborative team, demonstrating flexibility, creativity and flair. As we grow in size, we need a new member of the teaching faculty who in every way is willing to play their part in continuing our successful model and helping to develop the ethos, character and structures of both a sustainable and ethos centred school. We have a clear approach to education centred on our Learning Mountain, which is underpinned by our Learner Qualities: Respect, Resilience, Creativity, Curiosity, Kindness, Independence and Reflection.

3. The Desired Candidate

We are seeking a UK or similarly qualified graduate in History and Geography or a closely related discipline with a recognised teaching qualification and experience in the teaching of History and Geography.

The successful candidate must above all be dedicated to educational excellence and international best practice. They should be creative, energetic, flexible and genuinely interested in students and consistently respectful of children, staff, parents and the wider community.

Cambridge International School (Bratislava) is a mixed, all-through international school catering for students aged from 2-18.

It is located in Central Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, and teaches in English, using native English teachers from the UK and other countries. The school has pupils from more than 20 different countries, and offers classes in maximum class size of 18.

The school curriculum is from the University of Cambridge, drawing on the English National Curriculum. The school teaches the Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level for students aged 14 to 18 years old.
