Curriculum Adviser - English or Mathematics

We are looking to appoint one post to lead English and one post to lead mathematics in our European family of schools. These are new posts. We are looking for colleagues that can lead on the development of English or mathematics across the region. Our schools span the full age range from 0 – 18 so there is an expectation that you will understand the curriculum across the range. Specifically, you will lead meetings with Heads of Department. In addition, there is an expectation (in time) that you will undertake some broader work on improvement in teaching and learning beyond your specialist subject. 

Purpose

To champion the highest standards in English or Mathematics across the family of schools with a focus on effective research-led practice and high standards.

Key accountabilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for school based colleagues and as a subject matter expect
  • Lead and facilitate meetings of staff from schools to foster collegiality, share effective practice and disciplined innovation
  • Visit schools to evaluate provision (curriculum, teaching, assessment) and leadership in the subject area
  • Challenge under-performance through support and monitoring
  • Lead projects and empower others 
  • Be a source of inspiration and ensure that schools have access to excellence based on the most effective national and international standards
  • Lead effective practice networks face to face and virtually, including writing and curating high quality resources
