Vision & Aims - The de Ferrers Trust

The de Ferrers Trust is a Multi Academy Trust comprising three Secondary Academies and four Primary Academies, currently based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

Our vision is to ensure the children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background. We aim to achieve this vision through:

  • Delivering a high-quality education
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining high-calibre members of staff
  • Establishing and developing robust governance
  • Ensuring financial probity and viability
  • Developing a highly efficient trust infrastructure and central services
  • Establishing effective systems to support the sustainable growth of the Trust

About Our School

We are proud to base our approach to learning on an “Aspire and Achieve” ethos. We benefit from a strong local reputation which is the reason we have increased our admission number to 410. Our expansion has been facilitated by the acquisition of a third site for our popular Sixth Form in the town centre. This has led to a re-organisation of our students, with Year 7 and Year 8 educated at the Dove Campus and Years 9-11 at the Trent Campus, which are half a mile apart.

We were delighted by our January 2017 Ofsted inspection which emphasised the outstanding aspects of our work, including high levels of progress and attainment. We value our staff team, and this is reflected in the wide range of professional development opportunities which are offered both internally and externally. In recent years, we have developed an international reputation for learning technologies, becoming both an Apple Distinguished School and Regional Training Centre; we provide a 1-to-1 iPad programme for all students in Year 9 - Year 13.

The Role

The position will be 37 hours per week, term time only.

To act as a Cover Supervisor during teacher absence, taking responsibility for a class of students who are carrying out work set by the teacher. Although linked to one curriculum area, you can be required to work as a Cover Supervisor in any subject and therefore are not expected to have specialist knowledge of all subjects. You are required to be flexible as the cover schedule is determined on a daily basis, and you will be required to work across both sites.

In Return

We strive to be an Employer of Choice and are committed to the wellbeing and development of our colleagues. You will join a supportive, warm and friendly community and enjoy an excellent benefits package, which includes:

  • Cycle to Work Scheme;
  • Taste Card;
  • Discounts for days out, shopping, holidays and much more, with different offers each month;
  • Access to a fully fitted fitness suite, located on-site.
