Job overview

We are looking for a creative and dynamic Curriculum Area Manager to oversee the IT curriculum and to 

support and line manage faculty staff. The successful candidate will work with team members to deliver an 

inspiring curriculum across our IT courses and ensure quality and standards across the curriculum. The 

successful post holder will programme lead and tutor one of our main courses which include full time 

students at Level 2 and 3, along with apprenticeships and HE programmes. Our main programmes include 

traditional BTEC courses as well as the new Digital T Level and T Level Transition courses. Our HE 

qualifications are validated by the University of Plymouth and we are continuing our work with esports by 

introducing a new HNC esports from September 2022. In addition to supporting the curriculum, the post 

holder will oversee our enrichment provision and work with external partners to establish industry links to 

provide line of sight opportunities which will further enrich the student experience.

Our IT faculty is based in the heart of the city centre, just a few minutes’ walk from Exeter Central Station.

We also have classrooms and specialist facilities in the recently opened Digital and Data Centre, our brandnew building offering high-quality, cutting-edge provision to support our students. This building boasts a 

fully equipped IT lab for our computer technicians as well as a sector leading esports venue, used by our 

competition winning students. In addition, it contains specialist Apple teaching facilities and high end HE 

delivery spaces including a 140+ seat lecture theatre. We welcome applications from candidates who can 

support our continued vision of collaboration across courses and with industry partners. 

Successful applicants should have experience of working with learners from different educational 

backgrounds and must be committed to outstanding teaching and learning. Applicants should demonstrate 

up-to-date knowledge of exam board specifications and should be highly skilled educators who are able to 

demonstrate strong knowledge in relevant fields. Knowledge and experience of tutoring is essential as well 

as a commitment to teamwork to join this high performing team.
