Kingsbury High is a large, split site, successful, over-subscribed 11-18, mixed, multi-ethnic school. We are located in an attractive suburban location surrounded by parkland with excellent transport links to enable easy access from central London and fringe areas. 

We are looking for experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Faculties of Humanities and  Physical Education and Extended Learning. The successful candidate will deliver an effective level of support to the Head of Faculty and meet the learning and welfare needs of individual students, as nominated, and participating in other departmental activities as directed.


Start: 1 September 2017

Salary: NJC Scale 5 - Full Time salary £22,512 paid pro rata for 36 hours/39 weeks. Actual Salary £19,828

Contract: Permanent 36 hours per week (full time). Hours: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (with 5.00 pm finish on Tuesday)

The successful candidate will be required to support the learning needs of individual students, in particular, helping them prepare for examinations in GCSE and supporting students with Special Educational Needs in the classroom; and be required to supervise whole classes to maintain good order, keep students on task, respond to questions and generally assist students to undertake set activities.

In addition, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of departmental and student records and be able to use computerised management information systems to enter, record and retrieve data. Duties will also include organising reprographics, ordering stationery and classroom equipment, writing letters to parents and organising events such as trips.

What experience do I need?

· You will have experience of working with children or young people, excellent interpersonal skills and be  confident in using computers.

· You must have good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.

· You will need to be flexible as things can often change at the last.

· You must have the ability to relate to young people with a variety of learning and medical needs.

· Level 2 or NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants qualification or equivalent or willingness to obtain.

The appointee will be required to complete a six-month period of probation.
