Our Sixth Form is based in the recently refurbished City Campus close to the historic city of Wakefield and offers a wide range of A level subjects. Provision in English and Humanities includes A levels in English language, literature and combined, history, sociology, business studies, economics, accounting and law, as well as an Access to HE pathway and cross-College GCSE English provision.

As Curriculum Development Manager for Humanities and English you’ll be involved in planning, reviewing, designing and implementing a programme of study which satisfies the needs of our students, whatever their end goal. It’s a wide-ranging brief and alongside your curriculum development responsibilities you’ll manage staff and resources, maintain student achievements and raise standards of performance.

Already an outstanding classroom practitioner with track record of improving the learner experience and an ability to make accurate judgements about the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, you will also have/hold:

  • A degree in a relevant subject/discipline, along with A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Successful experience of teaching a relevant subject such as English or one of the Humanities, ideally at FE level.
  • Supervisory/curriculum/course management experience within a College or Post-16 School environment.
