Aspris College South Wales has an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Lead to be based  in Torfaen, South Wales.

Aspris College South Wales is an independent, specialist co-educational college for young adults aged 16-25 with Asperger’s syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders, SEMH and a range of additional complex learning and communication needs. The college was set up in partnership with Coleg Gwent, the largest further education college in Wales, to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of our young people.

The college is a high performing, thriving, independent specialist provision recognised by Estyn as even having some excellent, sector leading practice.

We are now looking for exceptional and highly motivated Curriculum Lead to continue to drive the college to further success. 

Ideally you will be able to:-

  • Provide inspiration, motivation and vision to help take the college even further forward.
  • Relentless focus on enabling all learners to raise their achievement within our learning community and beyond.
  • Work in partnership with your colleagues, both in the college and the wider Aspris network of schools and colleges to ensure the college continues to be highly regarded in all aspects of its provision.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate all aspects of Education.
  • Team player, happy to work closely with the well-established and supportive team.
  • Resilient, dynamic and committed.
  • Have an understanding of both traditional and alternative educational models.
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of working with young people, to liaise with their families and to work within a multi-agency setting with other services and professionals.
  • Safeguarding and Prevent Officer in order to ensure our young peoples needs are met.
  • Take responsibility  of delivering relevant training and development to staff in order to improve skills.

Required:

  • A PGCE and a detailed knowledge of Further Education and the full range of externally accredited courses, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications.
  • Ensuring the best possible standards are delivered and that the education delivered complies with relevant statutory regulations, guidelines, governance and quality standards.
  •  Share our passion for high aspiration and achievement for all
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be highly organised and adaptable
