The Vacancy


The Childcare department are looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Curriculum Leader.


The core responsibilities of this role include managing all the day-to-day operations of the department, deputising for the Head of Childcare, teaching and assessment of high-quality learning across a range L2 to L6 programmes.


This role has a 0.5 FTE commitment to delivery across the programmes based on experience. This role will have line management responsibilities for the delivery team, as well as ensuring section performance is aligned to college KPI's, and will support the Head of Childcare in ensuring effective leadership of the provision, including curriculum business and financial planning, development, quality and delivery.


The successful candidate requires a strong background in leading Further Education and Higher Education, and must have a range of knowledge and experience in the childcare sector. The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.


It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE and HE and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
