We are looking for an inspirational Curriculum Leader for Digital Technologies.

Newcastle College is looking to appoint a highly motivated and ambitious colleague to lead Further Education within the Digital Technologies Faculty. As Curriculum Leader for Digital Technology you will lead a team of computing and IT specialists. With excellent facilities, you will  join a school that has a genuine commitment to supporting Digital growth in the North East.

The Curriculum Area of Digital Technologies

Within Further Education we currently offer Btec courses across Level 1, 2 and 3 with specialism in games design, networking & cyber security and software engineering. In addition we offer an Access to HE (computing) Diploma through One Awards which gives the department c300 full time students.

The Post of Curriculum Leader

Curriculum Leaders are expected to be outstanding classroom practitioners. We are looking for a teacher who displays the following characteristics:

A passion for all things Digital;

Excellent subject knowledge and a desire to build on this; and an

Enthusiasm for working with 16-19 year old students.

Capable of delivering the subject to a wide range of student abilities.

In addition we are looking for a candidate who recognises the critical importance of developing our students’ literacy and numeracy skills and will implement this as an integral part of their department.

Candidates will be part of a team where resources and ideas are freely shared for the greater good of the department. The successful applicant is expected to be flexible, not afraid to meet challenges, and innovative in their approach to curriculum design and delivery.

As a new member of staff you will receive plenty of support from your colleagues both from the department and from the wider college community. This will include:

a comprehensive and supportive induction program;

support from the Head of Digital Technologies to help you through the first year (in particular); and

Leading from the Middle - a high impact development program for FE Middle Managers to support and develop professional effectiveness.
