Curriculum Leader for Creative Arts with Drama or Music Specialism

Lammas School is recruiting for a Curriculum Leader for the Creative Arts Faculty, to inspire the next generation of Performers, Musicians and Artists. The Creative Arts at Lammas is a collegiate department that welcomes innovative ideas and supports each of its members to achieve their own goals within their professional practice. All members of the faculty contribute towards shaping the curriculum and play a part in our Wide Horizons program. We welcome applications from colleagues who share our commitment to providing an inclusive and diverse Arts Education that supports and challenges the young people in the community we serve. The team are composed of two Art teachers, a Music teacher and a Drama teacher, alongside our own resident Artist and technician and an LSA/Drama technician.

As such our students participate in a range of enrichment opportunities including the annual Shakespeare Schools Festival and the Griffin Arts Festival. The Griffin Schools Trust is also committed to supporting colleagues to achieve swift career progression offering a range of opportunities and experiences across the thirteen Trust schools. 

This role would suit an expert in their field, with the capacity for creativity and the belief that regardless of background, every child can achieve at least national norms.  

Lammas School is a thriving and highly regarded community school with Sixth Form provision, located within walking distance of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and set on the edge of Hackney Marshes. We are closely partnered with two outstanding Primary Schools, Willow Brook and Riverley. The staff team is supportive and balanced with well-established colleagues working alongside Teach First trainees, ECTs and those at all stages of their careers.  

Our curriculum offer is broad, and we are intently focused not only on achieving academic excellence, but also widening the horizons of the community we serve via the arts, sports and an enviable co-curricular offer.  

We engage in a wide variety of Proud Traditions and experiences that serve to enthuse and energise our educational offer. These include the yearly Griffin Science Symposium, The Griffin Sports Festival, The Griffin Arts Festival and Founders Day, all opportunities to engage in higher level experiences and strengthen community.
