Lady Manners School is a Foundation School with 1340 students on roll including 260 in the Sixth Form.  It is a highly successful and popular comprehensive school situated within the beautiful Peak District National Park within travelling distance of Sheffield, Chesterfield and Derby.  Our staff and students make this a wonderful place to work.

This post provides an outstanding opportunity for an innovative and committed leader to manage and further develop our successful ICT department.

The successful candidate will:

• have a vision for the development of ICT across the 11-18 age range and the leadership ability to ensure that this vision is met
• have the skills and determination to lead initiatives at a departmental level and to support the school wide ICT initiatives
• be an outstanding classroom teacher, providing engaging and creative learning experiences for all students
• be able to inspire students of all abilities and ages to achieve their highest potential
• be committed to raising the achievement of every student
• have a successful record of working in and leading teams

The successful applicant will be expected to teach ICT across the full age range and Computer Science up to and including A Level.

School Organisation 

The school is organised into:

  • Lower School (Years 7-9) Key Stage 3
  • Upper School (Years 10-11) Key Stage 4
  • Sixth Form (Years 12-13) Key Stage 5

Each has a Head of School, Heads of Year, and Form Tutors.   

We have a strong team of support staff, including specialist finance, premises, catering and technical staff, all of whom are employed directly by the school. 

Curriculum 

Teaching is organised through subject specific departments, each with a Curriculum Leader.   

The Lower School curriculum provides a broad and interesting education for all students.  In Upper School the core curriculum contains English, Mathematics, Science, Religious Studies, PE, PSHE and Citizenship.  Choice is introduced through four subject options but students are encouraged to ensure that their curriculum remains broad and balanced by considering creative, humanities and language subjects.  

We currently offer 29 subjects for study at Key Stage 4 and 28 in the Sixth Form, including academic and vocational subjects.
