Curriculum Leader- Mathematics

The British School, New Delhi seeks an experienced Curriculum Leader of Mathematics who is an outstanding practitioner in Mathematics and has a strong understanding of both IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme levels.  

Curriculum Leaders must ensure that targets for improvement in the Curriculum Area are set and met, through positive approaches to Curriculum development, the planning and preparation of schemes of work, the monitoring of learning and teaching across the Curriculum Area and the support and development of staff. 

Curriculum Leaders form a vital part of the middle leadership team and are part of the Secondary Senior Leadership Team, helping shape secondary provision beyond their area of specialism. Curriculum Leaders need to have a good knowledge of educational issues and are expected to keep up to date with, lead on and work in conjunction with team members on improving pedagogy and practice. 

The appointee will have the ability to collaborate and develop Mathematics programmes that are both stimulating and challenging to  engage students of all abilities. They will also develop assessments to monitor the progress of student learning and achievement; use data on student achievement to inform planning and teaching; and share relevant feedback with students, parents, and external institutions.

The Curriculum Leader will be leading the Secondary School Mathematics Department and will report to the Secondary School Principal.

The appointee will be a postgraduate in Mathematics with a teaching qualification/degree from a reputed institution and possess a minimum of 5 years' teaching experience in a leading international school. Experience in teaching IB and IGSCE is a requirement.
