Job overview
Due to the continued expansion of our school we are looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individual with an excellent record of accomplishment in departmental development and leadership to help shape and ensure the success of our school. We are a new free school, in our third year since opening, currently home to students in years 7, 8 and 9 and having just moved into our brand new building just north of Horsham, West Sussex. Over the next few years we will grow to become an all-through school for 1620 students aged 4-16 with a nursery facility. We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with eight schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools share an uncompromising belief in high achievement and high expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education. Every BET school is unique, with its own distinctive identity.
We intend Bohunt Horsham to be a true all-through school with opportunities for cross phase teaching and the sharing of pedagogical practice and research across primary and secondary provision, offering our students opportunities for leadership and mentoring.
As a growing school, this is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher who may aspire to whole school leadership or is looking for their first departmental leadership role. Potential is as important as experience and the successful candidate will join a thriving, dedicated and passionate team. This role will be supported by the senior leadership team and will benefit from experienced cross trust leadership.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate success in sustaining academic excellence, helping every child achieve exceptional progress and using data to inform actions. Our band new, state-of-the-art site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision, as well a wide range of sports and extra-curricular provision. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom and onsite Bushcraft, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Big Expeditions to wilderness locations such as Greenland, alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad.
