This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, well-qualified and inspiring teacher to lead and develop Design Technology (Resistant Materials and Graphics) at Cove School.  You will teach the subject from Years 7 to 11 and develop and implement the strategic vision for the curriculum area.

Design Technology is an important part of the curriculum at Cove and is a subject that provides many creative and exciting opportunities for our students.  The successful candidate will have outstanding subject knowledge and be able to motivate students through inspirational teaching.  This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher to join a thriving school and work with students who are keen to learn.

The subject is taught in two specialist DT workshops and two dedicated Graphics rooms, along with a specialist staff work area.  The subject is very popular at Key Stage 4 and there are some exciting opportunities to further enhance the quality of provision.

We welcome applications from recently qualified teachers, as well as existing and aspiring future leaders.  We offer a ‘vibrant CPD programme’ – Ofsted 2018, including bespoke leadership programmes at all levels.  We work closely with other local secondary schools and Hampshire local authority.

We provide a broad, high calibre education for our 1000 students covering the whole ability range and we aim to ensure a happy, secure and energetic community in which our students and staff can flourish.  The successful candidate will be expected to be involved in extra-curricular activities where possible and the pastoral life of this busy school.
