Tes is seeking an experienced and passionate Curriculum Leader of Geography to join  an innovative academy from September 2020.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an academy that offers unique links to UCL and an innovative connected curriculum with autonomy over developing your own lessons. The academy is a mixed 11-19 school that opened its doors in the heart of Camden in 2012. It offers iconic state-of-the-art facilities, training and development opportunities and the chance to work with the latest innovations in classroom technology.

Teaching within the Humanities Faculty (History, Geography and RS) you will help seek to broaden a learner’s understanding of the world, at all levels within the Academy, while facilitating their development as whole people and furnishing them with vital lifelong learning attributes and capacities. 

The Faculty offers learners research engaged, responsive and innovative teaching which leads to high levels of academic achievement alongside high levels of enjoyment. The Faculty strives to push forward teaching and learning innovations particularly within the field of Open Space teaching and learning, the use of ICT for Learning, development of literacy and AFL skills. They aim to enrich their students with practical and real-life context self-directed activities and would two exceptional candidates to join the team on its journey to ‘outstanding’.

You Will:

  • Have a passion about your subject with a relevant degree
  • Hold UK QTS
  • Have sound understanding of current areas of development in the subject
  • Have a clear understanding of the diverse needs of students and knows how to address them
  • Have high expectations, set and deliver high standards and commands credibility through expertise
  • Be able to plan, assess, review and evaluate effectively and efficiently through good analysis, understanding and interpretation of data/evidence and other information
  • Have great leadership and motivational qualities
  • Have high expectations to set and deliver high standards and command credibility through expertise
  • Innovative Curriculum and pedagogical development within Geography
  • Have the ability to develop an exciting and creative cross-disciplinary teaching and learning in all levels
