We are looking to appoint an experienced and ambitious Teacher of History or an established subject leader ready for a new challenge for the role of Curriculum Lead of History. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the History department at Kingsway Park High School, shaping the curriculum and inspiring students to develop a deep appreciation for the subject.

The Role

The Curriculum Leader of History will:

  • Lead and manage the History department, driving high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a broad and engaging History curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
  • Support and mentor teachers within the department to enhance pedagogy and student outcomes.
  • Analyse student performance and implement strategies to maximise progress and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the EBACC faculty to develop cross-curricular links.
  • Inspire a love for History and promote enrichment opportunities, including trips and extracurricular activities.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have a passion for History and a proven track record of excellent teaching.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
  • Have the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Be committed to continuous professional development and innovation in History education.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic and supportive team.

Kingsway Park High School was established in 2010 and joined the Altus Education Partnership in February 2022. We are now a very popular oversubscribed school in central Rochdale with 1350 students in Years 7-11 and 190 staff.
