An exciting opportunity to join this ‘outstanding’ Cheshire East school, leading a high achieving faculty. The post has arisen as a result of the current post-holder securing a promotion to a Deputy Headship.

We are looking for a passionate leader with energy, enthusiasm and the ability to think strategically who can offer:

Outstanding classroom teaching up to A level in their specialism;

The ability to inspire and motivate students and staff;

Good knowledge and a developed understanding of raising achievement strategies;

Understanding of 11-18 curriculum design, data and assessment.

Children of all abilities make impressive progress throughout the key stages and Alsager is one of the highest performing schools in Cheshire East. Our school GCSE Progress 8 score in 2017 was a very impressive +0.31, putting us in the top 25% of schools nationally.  In 2017, 72% of GCSE Physics students achieved an A/A*, 57% A/A*in 

Chemistry and 55% A/A* in Biology, overall 82% of students achieved grades A* -C across the separate and 

combined sciences.  The science Progress score in 2017 was a superb +0.55.

Alsager School is a co-educational secondary academy based in Alsager, near Stoke-on-Trent in Cheshire, for pupils aged 11-18. The academy has no religious affiliation. Alsager School’s GCSE and A-level results regularly exceed local and national figures.

Values and vision 

Alsager School is a cooperative school and actively promotes cooperative values, delivering these through the Cooperative Learning programme (PSHE) and across curricular and extra-curricular activities for all key stages. The cooperative values are self-responsibility, democracy, self-help, solidarity, equality and equity. 

The secondary places high importance on pupil voice and operates student councils. Each form has one or two council representatives, who attend council meetings every week and provide feedback to their form groups.
