Curriculum Leader - Science

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who has demonstrated confidence, experience, drive and commitment to develop technology-enhanced teaching and learning across the whole school.

This is a combined teaching and leadership role and involves the leadership of the Science department and the development of the Science curriculum across the whole school.

We are seeking an individual who:

  • Has a clear values and moral purpose, focused on ensuring excellent educational outcomes for all students
  • Has a track record as an outstanding classroom practitioner and teaching Science at KS3 and KS4
  • Will lead a team of teachers to develop and promote the use of science across the whole school
  • Will provide professional development opportunities for teachers and support staff across the school and support the professional growth of teachers in the effective use of digital teaching and learning tools
  • Will work closely with the Science department to develop the Science curriculum to align with the school's educational vision and the teaching and learning policy
  • Demonstrates excellent pedagogical skills, as this role has a limited teaching load in order to model good practice to colleagues in the use of technology within lesson
  • Can demonstrate high degrees of personal integrity, creativity and resilience

RTS opened to 150 Year 7s in September 2017 growing 150 year on year until we reached capacity in September 2021. We are an 11-16 mixed school with an open admissions criteria. The school is co-located with Clarendon School, Capella School, Richmond upon Thames College and site neighbours Harlequins on the Richmond Education and Enterprise Campus.

The Richmond upon Thames School opened in September 2017 and is based in Twickenham, south-west London. RTS is a co-educational, non-selective and non-faith secondary school which caters for 11- to 16-year-olds. RTS offers its students a huge range of opportunities, because of its unique access to real-world facilities through its on-site partners, Harlequins, Haymarket, Richmond upon Thames College and Clarendon School.
