About the role:

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding candidate to be the Co-ordinator of Social Sciences at the City and Islington (CANDI) Sixth Form. The department includes delivery of A level Sociology, Psychology and Geography and the WJEC Level 3 in Criminology.

The role holder will be responsible for the leadership, management and development of the curriculum provision within the department ensuring that the quality of the delivery is of the highest standard. 

Expectations of the postholder: 

  1. To be responsible for quality assurance and improvement within the department including lesson observations, self-assessment reports and quality improvement plans.
  2. To inspire staff to be innovative in all aspects of teaching and learning and to embed the use of online learning within the department.
  3. To be responsible for the achievement of all Performance Targets (e.g. recruitment, retention and Value Added for all students). 
  4. To be responsible for the overall learner experience ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction for all students.

About you:

You should have an excellent track record of co-ordination of A level provision, including the effective development, deployment and leadership of staff. Additionally, you should have experience of curriculum planning processes particularly in relation to the areas covered by the post.
