Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the ongoing development and innovation in IB programmes through leading and managing curriculum development of designated programme components. To lead and manage aspects of curriculum development in designated Career-related Programme components and a Diploma Programme subject and to provide quality support in programme and curriculum delivery.

Job Duties:

Reporting to one of the heads of curriculum development in the Diploma Programme /Career-related Programme development department, the post holder is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of curriculum development, and providing quality curriculum support for designated subjects and components. In addition to the general job description for a curriculum manager, the role will include;

  • Ensuring that the components of the DP/CP core are integrated appropriately into guides and curriculum support for the design ated subjects and components;
  • Ensuring that the IB learner profile and the student skills and pedagogical principles of approaches to teaching and learning (ATL) are integrated appropriately into guides and curriculum support for the designated subjects and components;
  • Participating in working groups convened for specific departmental (DP/CP development), divisional (academic) or organizational initiatives and projects, as agreed and requested by the Chief Officer of Learning and Teaching, the Head of DP/CP Programme development or one of the Heads of DP/CP curriculum development.

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification at degree level;
  • Significant post-qualification experience of teaching in relevant programme and curriculum areas;
  • An understanding of current developments and trends in learning and teaching;
  • Demonstrates good organizational and analytical skills, wit h meticulous attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent writing skills in English, which is the working language of the organization;
  • The ability to lead and work within a team and to foster a collaborative environment;
  • Competency in using standard Office software;
  • A willingness to accommodate innovative ways of working with and using digital media;
  • The ability to manage multiple projects to agreed timelines;
  • Ability to present effectively for a variety of audiences and purposes;
  • Knowledge of the IB, IB Programmes or being an IB Alumni is a plus.

 

- An international hire package will be available to assist a successful candidate to relocate to the Netherlands.

- In addition to career related curriculum experience, applicants should clearly state which Diploma Programme subject areas they have relevant experience of.

- The position wil l involve some international travel and weekend work.
