Situated in the town of Southall, in Middlesex, Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College is a coeducational establishment for students over the age of 14. It first opened in 1913 as Ealing Grammar School for Boys. It has been converted several times over the years. In 1936 it became Ealing County Grammar School and in 1974 it became a comprehensive school called Ealing High School. Ealing Tertiary College took control over the school in 1992. Then the college amalgamated in 2002 with Hammersmith and West London College.

Values and Vision

The college wants to help every student get their dream jobs by gaining the right qualifications, taking a part in schemes, work experiences and apprenticeships. The pupils are encouraged to be kind and respectful towards others and be proud and accountable for everything they do while on the campus. High-quality teaching is important, as is supporting the students throughout their time at the college.

Ofsted report

“Leaders and managers have successfully transformed the culture of the college so that staff now have higher expectations of themselves and of their learners, and have maintained the rate of progress seen at the previous monitoring visit. Teachers are much more open about their practice and willingly share ideas with each other. Leaders and managers have used performance management processes well to support teachers to improve and, where necessary, to secure their departure. Teachers and curriculum managers make effective use of the online system used for monitoring learners’ progress. They can easily identify those who are falling behind in their work and have a range of suitable support mechanisms in place to help learners catch up.”
