Curriculum Manager - Science

(Full Time / Permanent)

Salary: Sixth Form Colleges Main Scale for Teachers (£22,937 - £38,364 per annum) 

Plus a responsibility allowance of up to £4,500 per annum.

The College is seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher and leader to work closely with an existing Curriculum Manager and the Assistant Director TLA (STEM), to effectively lead and manage teaching, learning, and assessment for a range of Science programmes, and drive forward the College’s Science improvement strategy. The area offers courses across all sciences at A Level, BTEC and GCSE. In addition the College is working with university partners to develop foundation degree programmes within Science, to promote further and higher education, and to develop outreach links. This could be an exciting opportunity to work across a variety of successful institutions to promote and develop Science progression across the city. 

The post holder will be responsible for curriculum leadership, quality improvement and development within the Science department. This will include improving student performance; managing the performance of teaching staff; co-ordinating delivery and assessment; resource management, monitoring, and reporting; and the development of effective relations with external partners. The post holder will have a responsibility to implement, and monitor the effectiveness of approaches taken in the delivery of Science to meet the strategic objectives of the College.

The successful candidate will have a teaching commitment within Level 3 Physics therefore the ability to teach this subject is essential.
