We are looking for someone who has the determination and enthusiasm to make a difference in the life of each and every student you work with. You will share our vision and will have the ability to inspire our young people to achieve more than they believe is possible. Ideally you will have
- Experience of working within a learning environment, preferably within a similar role
- Specialist understanding in English (qualified to A level standard in English or a related subject)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, support and encourage learning
- Experience of working with students with special educational needs.
As a school, we pride ourselves on innovative practice which is fully inclusive and provides opportunities for all. A school where the standard of teaching and learning is consistently high and where every member of staff, regardless of their role, shares a commitment to the success of all students, both academically and pastorally. If you share our vision and believe you can have a positive impact on the lives of our young people, we want you to be part of our team.
Our school is ‘Good’ poised to be ‘Outstanding’ very soon. We are a vibrant, oversubscribed 11 to 18 comprehensive school with excellent GCSE results across all subjects; we are recognised as one of the highest performing schools in the region in terms of Key Stage 4 outcomes. Our A level results and destinations are equally impressive, with the school placed in the top 1% for performance nationally (according to ALPS) and over 97% of all students gaining entrance to their university or apprenticeship of choice.
We are committed to professional development for all staff, regardless of role. We have an innovative staff development programme, which truly empowers staff to take control of their own professional development through a supportive peer-coaching model. For those striving for career development, we run annual middle and senior leadership development programmes. Regardless of what point you are at in your career and whatever your aspirations may be, Penistone Grammar School can support you to achieve them.
