An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Curriculum Team Leader to share responsibility for the leadership and management of our well established construction curriculum area. You should be qualified to a minimum of Cert Ed or PGCE. Also, you should be a motivated, learner-centred, outstanding teacher, with qualified teacher status, have management experience in education or industry, as well as considerable technical experience within the construction sectors including relevant experience with HNC and CIOB provision. An in-depth knowledge of the Further Education Sector is essential.
You should have excellent communication skills as you will be required to manage jointly the curriculum area and lead a committed team of teachers and assessors. You will be expected to participate in leadership and management training to develop your own skills.
Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with circa 12,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a turnover of £35m. The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and job centre plus clients. We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2. We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students, our entrepreneurial and motivated staff team and our extensive partnership network. The College trains circa 850 apprentices, including circa 110 higher level apprenticeships and delivers work place training, traineeships and higher level technical and professional specialisms up to MBA level in our 4 strategic vocational areas; Construction, Design & Management; Engineering including mechatronics & robotics; Digital Creative; Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management across the pan London occupational sectors.

Located in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Barking and Dagenham College is a large further education college providing qualifications and work skills to learners aged 14 and over. Barking and Dagenham College offers a huge range of courses for learners of every kind, young and old, full and part-time. Of particular importance are courses aimed at 16-18 school-leavers, with a number of A-level and BTEC courses being run by the college, as well as foundation degrees for students looking to go into higher education. The college itself does actually offer a limited number of higher education degree courses, with students able to take advantage of the college's location and flexible financial offerings.
