Design and Technology Technician     

Required from May 2018     

Salary: Scale 5 Points 22-25 (£c.22,000 – 24,000)                            

35 Hours per week, Term Time Only + 2 weeks   

The school is seeking to appoint a full time DT Technician to deliver and develop technical services to support the Design and Technology Department of the school, in order to support the teaching and learning .   

The postholder requires high level technical skills and expertise, and must be committed to contribute to improving standards for pupils within the department.  Knowledge of operating Circular/table saw an advantage.  

An understanding of health and safety requirements and initiatives is crucial to the Technician’s role.

Oaklands is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in East London. It is a community state school as well as a NSS (National Support School] that provides support to other schools. A smaller than average secondary school, it will provide 850 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.

With over 20 years’ worth of educational success, Oaklands has been a specialist school for science since 2003 and became a specialist modern foreign language school in 2008.
