Job overview

DCYP is a highly complex organisation employing c.1000 personnel which includes Teachers, MOD Broader Banded Civil Servants, Soulbury Grades, Locally Employed Civilians and Contractors in multiple worldwide locations. The Headquarters team also includes a small number of military posts. Experience of working successfully in a multi-disciplined environment would therefore be desirable.

In DCYP we believe that, with the right teaching, nurture and support, every Service child can achieve great things, and to this end, we are seeking to appoint an Early Years Lead to drive forward the Early Years Strategic Agenda across schools and settings for children from 0-5 years and ensure that MOD provision for early education and childcare is of the highest quality. The post holder will be a significant role model within their wide sphere of influence both in DCYP and beyond.

Our schools and settings give children from all backgrounds an exceptional education and real choices about their future. 100% of MOD schools and settings are rated as good or better by OFSTED but we have ambitious plans for the future and there is still much to achieve. Our new Early Years Lead will be every bit as ambitious as we are, striving for excellence in everything they do and holding an unwavering commitment to improving outcomes for all children, regardless of background or ability. In this rapidly changing world, we must prepare children not only for their next schools, but also to ensure that they are well prepared to flourish in life.

Applicants should visit the Civil Service Jobs website and complete the online application, and also upload a supporting statement using the form within the advert at the link below - https://www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk/.
