The position of Defence School Mentor at St Peter Claver College requires a highly motivated and innovative person to join a team dedicated to nurturing engagement with the College community.
The Defence School Mentor (DSM) provides information, support and develops a range of activities for dependants of Defence members and families to ease the impact of mobility and service-related parental absences.
The DSM operates within the Catholic educational environment and culture and reports to the Business Manager. A significant relationship also exists with the Principal and the College Leadership Team. The local Defence Community Organisation Education Liaison Officer (EDLO) and the DSM will also be in close contact for advice, support and training needs.

To be successful in this role you will:
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: Minimum 12 Hours per week - Term time. Contract till end of Term 4, 2021. Extension to tenure subject to funding.
Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 4 - $31.44 per hour plus Superannuation
Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
