Castlebrook High School wish to appoint a Department Learning Co-ordinator – Biology. The salary for this post will be Teachers’ Pay Range plus TLR2b.

We are seeking a colleague who:

  • Is enthusiastic, passionate, creative, flexible and innovative with the drive and determination to move the Biology Department to outstanding
  • Provides a role model for professional practice in the school
  • Has the ability to strategically lead and line manage the department to secure a minimum of good teaching leading to at least good progress in Biology
  • Has excellent knowledge of Science, in particular Biology but also across Chemistry and Physics.
  • Has the ability to successfully teach across key stages 3 and 4 and demonstrate a range of successful teaching and learning strategies
  • Has the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Is able to demonstrate excellent learner progress
  • Is a dedicated team player who develops excellent relationships with learners and colleagues
  • Is a professional who communicates clear expectations and promotes at all times positive behaviour for learning
  • Is a leader who can engage, inspire and challenge learners to develop a love of learning
