Job overview

Deputy Catering Manager

37.5 hours per week, all year round with shift allowance

Salary is competitive and will be dependent on skills and experience

Croydon, Surrey

Looking for the next step up in your catering career? Can you manage and motivate a team of staff producing 1300 daily covers together with a range of high quality meals for functions and business events for external customers such as weddings or christenings? Do you take a pride in building good relationships with customers to develop key clients and repeat business?

You should have some experience in a management role in a catering, hospitality, events or a hotel environment, be passionate about food and have a creative approach to delivering service excellence. In addition you will demonstrate excellent management skills, and a desire to get stuck in and lead by example. A working knowledge of food safety, H & S and allergen laws would be an advantage but above all enthusiasm and the drive to succeed together with the proven ability to multi-task under pressure is essential.

You should be flexible with your approach to your hours as many staff work a shift roster and we are now delivering an increasing number of external events outside the core working day. We recognise the unsocial hours in our salary package.

This exciting opportunity offers excellent benefits which include a discount on School fees, immediate non-contributory pension and free life cover, free car parking, free lunch (when the kitchen is in operation) and the use of our on-site tennis courts and swimming pool.

All completed applications should be submitted to hr@royalrussell.co.uk  by 12 noon on Monday 30th October 2017. Applications will be considered on receipt.  Interviews will be held during week commencing 6th November 2017.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (including a check against the Children’s Barred List) and other pre-employment screening including references and medical fitness.
