Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, ambitious and highly motivated second in English, with a passion for improving teaching and learning in the English faculty. The successful candidate will join a high achieving faculty which is well supported in terms of staff and resources at a pivotal time in its development. The leadership role will be determined based around the strengths of the successful candidate.
Our staff are the most important resource in the College and as a result the College will offer a recruitment and retention allowance up to £3,000 for a suitably qualified candidate.
Graded ‘Good’ in 2013, the College has a clearly articulated vision for continued improvement. Results in 2015 were outstanding in English and maths and good elsewhere. There is a waiting list for places in Year 7 and a thriving Sixth Form. Norton is now planning for the future with confidence.

About Norton College
Norton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in North Yorkshire, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Norton, Malton has approximately 800 students on roll.
Norton College was established in 1963 and converted to academy status in 2011. Ofsted identified the school as good in 2017.
