About the role:

We are seeking to recruit a Deputy Director for our Sixth Form College to share line management together with the other Deputy of the Sixth Form Coordinators. You will be responsible for their appraisals and to ensure quality in all areas of their work. You will line manage the Coordinators of Science, Mathematics and Computing, Social Science, Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts and the Extended Project.

You will provide leadership and support on raising student aspiration and achievement, including the use of assessment data.

About you:

.You must have a Degree and PGCE or other teaching qualification. You will have an extensive successful A-Level teaching and tutorial experience with the 16 – 19 age group. You will need extensive line management experience including appraisals and the the ability to promote continuous improvement in the quality of the work of the Sixth Form College and to raise standards of achievement for all students.

As of 1st of August 2016, City & Islington and Westminster Kingsway Colleges have merged to create the first College Group in London. This exciting development will help secure City and Islington’s future at the forefront on skills training in London and widen opportunities for both its staff and students.  We will be happy to talk more about the implications of this change on the role you have applied for during the final stages of the selection process.
