The NASUWT is the leading trade union representing exclusively the interests of teachers and school leaders throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.

An exciting opportunity to become the next Deputy General Secretary of NASUWT – the Teachers’ Union.

We are looking for a highly experienced and committed trade unionist who has a deep commitment to the future of the teaching profession, equalities and social justice, as well as having a great track-record of leading, managing and inspiring others.

The successful candidate for this key role in the organisation will understand and share the NASUWT’s ethos and values, and have a thorough understanding of the issues and challenges affecting teachers and the education service throughout the UK.

As a senior leader, you will be able to apply your understanding of strategic, financial and people management to support the General Secretary in continuing to build the Union’s strength and influence to deliver the priorities set by our members.

The Deputy General Secretary will work on behalf of the General Secretary and the Union’s National Executive to advance the interests of the NASUWT and its members, including leading high-level negotiations and deputations with governments, administrations, employers and other bodies across the UK, and delivering vital campaigns with the Union’s national and international partners.
