We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Head – Academic from September 2022. The post-holder will report directly to the Headmistress and work closely with the Deputy Head – Pastoral and the Director of Finance and Operations as part of the Executive Leadership Team of the School.
Godstowe is a thriving, busy school enjoying a famous reputation in its field. Approximately a third of our pupils are boarders. The School prepares children for entry into the leading independent senior schools. About 20% of our girls are international pupils, from the European countries as well as Africa and the Far East.
The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of school leadership and will play a key role in building on our excellent academic provision, shaping future strategy and developing middle leadership throughout the School. This is a broad role and applicants will need to demonstrate a proven record of accomplishment in leadership in a comparable school. You will be a highly skilled leader and an exceptional communicator, combining intellectual capacity with practical skills.

Godstowe was founded by two strong, progressive women, originally in fact as a school whose purpose would be to prepare girls for the move down the hill to Wycombe Abbey School. Their vision was for an innovative, academic and broad education for girls and, without a doubt, this continues to live on in today’s school.
