Job overview

This is an exciting role for an ambitious, forward-thinking leader.

Required for September 2023

City of London School is one of London’s leading academic day schools, with over 950 boys between the ages of 10 and 18. The School occupies an iconic position in the vibrant heart of the City of London, in the shadow of the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral and across the river from the Tate Modern. The buildings are purpose-built and accommodate a modern, forward-looking School with a proud tradition of academic excellence and educational innovation that dates back to the fifteenth century

The School aims to provide an education in the broadest sense, combining academic excellence with exceptional pastoral care, framed by an outward-facing approach. Striving to make that education available to as many talented pupils as possible, the school provides transformational bursaries for those who may not otherwise be able to afford the fees.

The Deputy Head (Academic) has overall responsibility for the School’s curriculum, pedagogical approach, teaching practice and standards, and educational innovation. This will include curriculum development, building curricular links with City of London School for Girls, the use of IT to support teaching and learning, and the employability agenda.

The School welcomes applications from candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and from all sectors of the community. The successful candidate will have an evidenced track record of successful middle or senior leadership experience in schools.

Interested candidates are warmly invited to contact RSAcademics to arrange an informal and confidential discussion about the role:
