This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the core team at this new school that opened in September 2018 in Kuala Lumpur. 

King Henry VIII College, Malaysia is a fully-fledged sister school to Christ College, Brecon, one the UK’s oldest schools, founded by Henry VIII in 1541. 

Like its Welsh sibling, King Henry VIII College is a co-educational boarding and day school, with students from 3 to 18 years of age. We share the values and ethos of Christ College, and make the most of our links in the UK and across the globe, ensuring we are very much an international school. 

Christ College Brecon is set in the Brecon Beacons National Park - one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom. King Henry VIII College has a rather more modern, urban setting in the Multi-Media Super Corridor hub that is Cyberjaya - a rapidly-developing planned township, mid-way between Kuala Lumpur City Centre and KL International Airport. The school has an impressive new campus, with outstanding, purpose-built facilities. 

The Senior Management Team at KH8 comprises the Head, the Deputy Heads (Academic and Pastoral), and the Head of KH8 Primary. 

This post is a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a particular interest in being part of a new school in South East Asia. 

The Deputy Head Academic works closely with the Head and other senior colleagues, and takes particular responsibility for the key academic areas, and the oversight of the academic core of the school. 

The curriculum at King Henry VIII is a recognisable British one. We cover a modern subject selection and students will sit Cambridge International IGCSE’s and AS/A levels, preparing them to go on to study at top universities world-wide.

Interviews will be conducted in the first instance via Skype or Facetime, and short-list interviews will be held in London on 22nd February; interviews will also take place in Kuala Lumpur around the same time. Successful applicants will take up post in August 2019.
