Job overview

After many years of service, Peter Hardy retires as Second Master in August 2020. Bryanston therefore seeks to appoint an innovative, ambitious and energetic Deputy Head for April 2020; this will allow a term’s handover.

The successful candidate will have had significant leadership experience and will demonstrate persistence, stamina and optimism. Experience of boarding is also essential. He or she will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and planning to move onto headship in due course.

Bryanston is one of the leading co-educational boarding schools in the country and with a new Headmaster (from September 2019), this is an exciting opportunity to help build on this success and develop their own style of leadership. The role will include significant strategic, as well as operational, responsibility. An ability to lead from the front and to build relationships is vital. The successful candidate will be expected to live in school accommodation and to teach a reduced timetable in any subject.
